Designed to get students actively involved in literature and learning. Non-Fiction Poetry combines a student-centered approach to the study of literature with a sharp focus on the development of practical reading and writing skills. The course provides a diverse mix of familiar classics and contemporary voices Collections of poems, short stories, drama, and non-fiction encourage students to enter a meaningful dialogue with the ideas and themes of literature. Non-fiction/Poetry is arranged thematically, within each genre. A comprehensive technology component including Web resources and interactive CD-ROMS, serves to extend and enhance the course. Additional support is available through the Reading Skills and Strategies binder designed to reach struggling readers Recommended the students in grade 9. |
