Best Match of My Life (Part two)
I got warmed up and stepped on the mat. It was my time to show him how it felt to lose. It was a close match all the way through and it all came down to who wanted it the most. As I said, I was up by one with thirty seconds to go and was riding him until he attempted to switch and elbowed me in the face. It was like seeing a television turn off. I opened my eyes, now on bottom and down by one point, to see a small puddle of blood on the mat. It was coming from my mouth. I looked up at the referee to show him I was injured and he just told me to get off the mat so I wouldn't bleed everywhere. I stood up and walked to the corner of the mat and saw the expression on everyone's face; that told me I was hurt bad. Hans gave me some water to rinse out my mouth. I spit out what looked like nothing but a mouthful of blood. It seems my tooth had busted completely through my lip.It was my upper left part of my lip and the look on my dads face scared me. I could tell it was bad when my dad didn't want me to go back out there. But I was motivated to keep going and win the match. With time running down I was able to stand up and take him down to win the match in the last 15 seconds. Josh was so pissed off from losing to me. After I won I had to go straight to the hospital. The doctor said I needed stitches and gave me seven of them. Another problem was that I had to forfeit the constellations finals so I ended up taking fourth place. Winning that match gave me confidence and proof that I could wrestle at a high level, even though the coaches weren't there. It gave me that toughness and desire I needed to keep going in my wrestling career. I had to wear a mask for the rest of the season so the cut wouldn't reopen. The cut left a scar but I am so glad it happened because it made me a better wrestler and I'm still good looking.
