Hi!  My name is Samantha Dutton and I am so excited to be teaching 4th Grade in Kotzebue this year!  This is my 12th year teaching and I have been blessed to have spent all those years in the Northwest Arctic Borough School District.

I was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan where I completed my K-12 education.  I attended Grand Valley State University after high school and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics as well as my teaching certificate.  I went on to complete my Master's of Education degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Alaska Southeast in 2016.

In 2011, I received my first teaching position and moved to Kotzebue, Alaska.  I taught first grade in Kotzebue for 3 years (as Miss Packer) before moving to Kiana to teach secondary math and science for two years.  I returned to Kotzebue in the fall of 2016 and spent 1 year teaching 3rd grade and 5 years teaching Kindergarten.  I am so very excited to be teaching 4th Grade this year and look forward to spending time with all of your students!
