My name is Tracy Bell, and I am honored to be the Assistant Principal at June Nelson Elementary School, serving the staff, students, and families in Kotzebue. I am very passionate about education and look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with an engaging and high-quality education that supports all students. 

I grew up in Mid-Michigan and attended Baker College, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts and Elementary Education. My educational career began in 2012 in Selawik at Davis-Ramoth Memorial School. During my time there, I served as a Kindergarten and First-grade teacher and Reading/RTI Specialist. I joined the June Nelson team in 2019 and taught third grade here for three years before pursuing the opportunity to lead with Ms. Jurs as JNES’ Assistant Principal.

My core belief is that great schools result from strong parent, staff, and student partnership. At JNES, we strive to provide all students with a safe and supportive learning environment. I believe that every child can and will learn if given the right opportunities and support. Working together with our staff and parents, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best. Together we will continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities and a culture of excellence for our students. 

While we continue to navigate an unprecedented time in our community and school, I want to assure you that I will do my best to support your student's learning and well-being.
