I teach Freshman English and Junior English. I have been in Kotzebue since 2013. My family joined me in January of 2014, and we have enjoyed getting to know the Inupiaq culture.  This is one of the most wonderful places that we have lived!

I graduated from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science in English and a minor in Education.  I earned my Masters of Education from  Concordia University in July 2018.  My husband served for 21 years in the military, and when he retired our family wanted to go somewhere we had never been.  That is one of the reasons that we chose Kotzebue, Alaska as our new home.  We have enjoyed learning to ice fish, can herring, and ride snowmobiles on the ice in the winter.
