I have been teaching for 16 years in the area of special education.  I tell folks that I have lived three lives: one as a paramedic/paramedic instructor, one as a housewife and finally one as a teacher.  I moved to Alaska in 2015 from Northern Minnesota, as small rural community, my closest gas station was 25 miles away.  I was in the middle of the Superior National Forest on a 160 acre homestead living in a 107 year old Finish log cabin.  I had no running water nor electricity and I heated with a wood burning stove.  A life I loved.  However, I always dreamed of living in Alaska and running the Iditarod.
