Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Diane Olmstead

I am your teacher for the 1st and 2nd graders here in Ambler.  I am very excited to get the year started!  I have been teaching for 35 years, and have taught in four different school districts in California before moving up here. I earned my Bachelors Degree from Western Washington University, and my Master’s Degree in Technology from Grand Canyon University. I love technology! One of the reasons I chose the Northwest Arctic Borough School District was because they really do have some great technology here.

I am thrilled to be the technology leader at Ambler School during this covid-19 time. Please come to me with any concerns you might have. I'm here to help.

I have one son, who is 29 years old, and lives in Bellingham, Washington. My parents and brothers live in the Coachella Valley in California.  That is where my son and I moved from. After 17 years in the desert we went looking for a cooler location. Last week my mom said the temperature reached 118. It's always fun communicating with my family about the weather up here.

I adopted the dog, Chewbacca, last year. I took him to be a companion for my son. He loves loves him. Chewbacca has found a new home and he is very happy. Thank you for Chebacca!

I really love your village. Everyone is so nice. I’m looking forward to a very exciting and productive year.
