Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Stefka Nikoltcheva and I am thrilled to say this is my sixth year teaching Special Education. I grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria and moved to the States in 1999 with husband and two babies. I received my Bachelors in Psychology from Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, Iowa in 2009, and my Masters in Education /Special Education from University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma in 2017. I taught three years in Oklahoma before moving for one year to New Mexico to teach on the Navajo Indian Reservation. In 2018, I moved to Savoonga, Alaska and worked as a Special Education teacher in the school there.
This will be my sixth year teaching, and I can not wait to meet the children, and people of Ambler. I am here with my husband, who will be the Social Studies and English teacher for the middle and high schoolers.
I have two children. Sofia is twenty-three. She just graduated from the University of Oklahoma and proud to say, she is about to become a teacher. Hristo, my son, is in his junior year studying accounting at the University of Oklahoma.
I enjoy reading, traveling, backpacking, hiking and meditation.
I am looking forward to meeting my students! My classroom is always open for parents and elders!
