Mr. Joey Porec

My name is Joey Porec and I will be your ELA 6th grade teacher for this upcoming school year. This will be my first time teaching 6th grade, but am looking forward to the challenge. I am from Wahiawa, Hawaii, but taught in Tuluksak, Alaska last year. My educational background consists of having a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from University of Hawaii, along with minors in Spanish and Peace and Conflict Studies. I have earned a Master’s degree in Natural Resources and Peace from the United Nations, Universidad de Paz in Costa Rica, and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from the University of Phoenix, Honolulu. In my free time, I enjoy surfing, fishing, traveling and going to the beach with my wife, son and daughter. This will be my 12th year teaching and I anticipate a great school year!
