Star students Staheli Foster, Lydia Williams, Vanessa Harvey, Kaylan Banks and Diane NelsonStar of the Northwest Magnet School combines the resources of secondary and post-secondary institutions within the Northwest Arctic Borough to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience for students in grades 11-14. Building on the need for specialized education in rural Alaska to prepare our students for careers in high-demand fields; Star has tailored curricula that allows our students to concentrate their studies along one of four chosen career pathways; health care, education, process technology and culinary arts.
