Welcome to JNES! I’m proud to serve as the assistant principal in the same school I once attended as a student, right here in my hometown of Kotzebue. After teaching pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade over the past four years, it’s an honor to now support our students, families, and staff in a leadership role.
Relationships are at the heart of everything I do. I believe kids thrive when they feel seen, supported, and connected. Whether I’m greeting students at the front door, visiting classrooms, cheering on a reading challenge, or meeting with families, I always try to lead with care, consistency, and a good dose of encouragement.
I recently earned my master’s degree in educational leadership and am especially passionate about literacy, attendance, and making sure our school reflects the culture, values, and strengths of our Kotzebue community.
I truly believe that schools are strongest when families and educators work together. I welcome every opportunity to collaborate with parents and caregivers and am always here to listen, problem-solve, and celebrate your child’s growth with you.
