  1. Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and/or leadership potential.
  2. Applicant must be a graduate of, or a currently enrolled senior, at an Alaskan high school.
  3. Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  4. Applicant must be formally enrolled fulltime in a technology-related program by the beginning of the semester he/she is using the award.
  5. Applicant must have the goal of pursuing a career in a technology-related field.
  6. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.


  • Complete the online application for the Red Boucher Scholarship:
  • Essay. Your personal essay should be approximately 1,000 words. Describe how your background is relevant to your interest in pursuing technology education, your professional goals, and your specific qualifications for this scholarship. A subjective review of your essay is a significant part of the evaluation.
  • Letters of recommendation. Two letters of recommendation are required.
  • Resume. Include a resume and/or summary of work experience, activities, personal interests, and community service.
  • Transcripts. Include official transcripts from all relevant institutions.
  • Statement of Financial Need. Explain the specific costs of your education (tuition, room and board, books, fees, travel). Include other sources of support, income, expenses and any mitigating circumstances regarding your financial need.
  • Proof of Application or Acceptance. Include a copy of your application or acceptance letter.
