NANA is an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1972 as a part of the Alaska Native Lands Claim Settlement Act.

As owner or partner of a diverse set of companies, NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., is one of the largest and most significant corporations based in Alaska. NANA owns the Red Dog Mine, which has the richest concentration of zinc ore known in the world. It owns the second largest group of hotels in Alaska and its diverse operations stretch from the Arctic Circle to Antarctica, from the continental United States to the Pacific.

NANA has more than 2,000 employees, many of them Inupiat shareholders of the Corporation, and an annual payroll of $54.5 million.

NANA is committed to creating job opportunities for shareholders. Its sole purpose is to provide for the economic and cultural well being of its owners – the Inupiat people who originated in Northwest Alaska. NANA Development Corporation (NDC) is NANA’s business arm. Headquartered in Anchorage, NDC serves several business sectors including government contracting, engineering, management services, oilfield services, mining services, hotel management and tourism.
