Career Pathways at NWABSD
NWABSD has chosen to use the "The National Career Clusters™ Framework" for organizing and delivering a quality CTE program through Programs of Study (POS) aligned to regional workforce needs and career pathways within the seven chosen Career Clusters identified in the table. A program of study (POS) is a comprehensive, structured approach for delivering academic and career and technical education to prepare students for postsecondary education and career success. (Source: U.S. Department of Education) Through the use of their electronic Personal Learning and Career Plan (PLCP) for grades 6-12 support by AKCIS, students in the NWABSD have the opportunity to focus on one of six career pathways giving them a head start on their future and leading the way in preparing our students to be successful by connecting career pathways to education.
